The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) is the soldiers' charity and has been providing support to serving soldiers (Regular and Territorial Army), retired soldiers and their families for over sixty years.
The charity is dependent on voluntary donations, and must currently raise over £5.5 million each year to continue its vital work with the Army family.
The ABF prides itself on being able to help those who need support in their time of need and have recognised that as a result of current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq there will be a greater demand on its funds in years to come.
In preparation, the ABF has set up a new fund called the Current Operations Fund specifically for those serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. Regrettably, the demands placed upon this income are expected to be high. Our soldiers will live with the physical and psychological consequences of the current conflicts for many years, and the ABF are resolute that, when the charity is called upon, they will be fully prepared to offer each and every one of them support.
